@reemazaman is an author, advocate, actress, speaker, and…so much more. She’s also been a big sister figure to me since I met her when I was 16 years old. In this episode, Reema shares her story of experiencing emotional and immigrant abuse, and the journey she has been on to find her voice. Check out Reema’s debut memoir, “I Am Yours.”

@therealsheabee created “the safe place” (a fast-growing love-filled Facebook group) as a way to build community, give access to free therapy, support members, and heal together. We jump right into it in this podcast to dig deep into experiencing sexual abuse growing up from relatives and dealing with feelings of abandonment. Abandonment is actually something that I’ve been really wanting to talk about on this podcast and haven’t really figured out how to…and I’m so thankful to Shea for sharing this space and heart talk with me.

@haleyjakobson (she/her) is a writer based in Brooklyn, getting ready to publish her first novel, which highlights the lifelong healing journey of a survivor of sexual assault. The book really highlights what it is like to be a “survivor in a post #metoo world.” In this episode we talk about re-learning to understand set boundaries for our own safety and mindfulness — even with how we use social media and interact with followers.
